A friend wrote this, and shared it on Facebook and I just love it. The God Jehovah sets things up with an utter perfection that we cannot comprehend. Blows my mind.
The book of Micah was written about 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. Micah 4:8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
Migdal Eder, translated as The Tower of the Flock was a look-out post located just outside the city of Bethlehem. What made this tower special, though, is what the bottom portion of it was used for. In the base of Migdal Eder was an animal care facility, a manger, where Jerusalem’s sacrificial lambs were birthed and inspected. A specific material, known as swaddling clothes, was kept on hand in the building to wrap the spotless lambs in so that no blemishes could occur before they were delivered to the temple staff. When a host of angels met with shepherds outside of Bethlehem, they were given a specific sign to seek out When these seasoned shepherds heard that the Messiah would be in a “manger” wrapped in “swaddling clothes”, they literally ran to this tower because there was no question in their minds where the child was. Mary and Joseph had not wandered aimlessly into a barn behind a cheap motel. No, they were led by Providence back to the vacant shelter they had passed on their way into town. Christ, the Lamb of God, was born exactly where a sacrificial lamb was supposed to be born, the location that Micah had already prophesied; Migdal Eder.
