Heirloom Gardening: Helios Radishes

So far we’ve had an abundance of fresh greens (which has been lovely!)…and these beautiful radishes!

There are a few red ones tucked in there too… but the yellow ones are Helios radishes. They were good…I’ll plant them again!  Got them here…(not an affiliate link).

Weekly End Time News 6/25/17

Here are a couple of good news videos for the week.

The first one, by the You Tuber, Mark at Proclaim His Word, is a weekly news roundup.  He and a friend (Laura) very recently started doing these, and I thought it was worth posting here.

And as always, John Haller does a great update.  Both do updates every Sunday.  No Farag today….no prophecy updated posted this week.

Some Good Satire

Please know this is not real, it is satire, but it gave me a good chuckle.

There’s alot of truth in this anyhow….and the comment about Riplinger’s book made me laugh out loud (Mrs. Gail Riplinger, author of the book “New Age Bible Versions”,  wasn’t even born until 1947)…  Anyhow, any other KJV Only folks out there will enjoy this one.

Building the Beast System

I can’t even say this is happening a little at a time….it’s making my head spin.

Homemade Toothpaste

We’ve been using “organic” fluoride free toothpaste for several years…it seems like no matter what we do, our kids burn through about a tube a week.  At $4.50 or more a tube, that adds up fast.  I hate having to pay through the nose just to avoid fluoride and some of the other junk in conventional toothpastes.  I recently saw this recipe for homemade toothpaste, and thought I’d try it.  I had no cost outside the GoToob (link shown) as I already had everything needed.

Homemade Diatomaceous Earth Toothpaste from Love Love Thing

***Due to fears of my bathroom sink solidifying shut from coconut oil, I did do what she mentions in this post – using 3 T. coconut oil and 3 T. olive oil instead of 6 T. coconut oil.

I mixed this up yesterday, and we’ve been able to use it a couple times.  We were just using Earthpaste, and I must say I like this better.

Looks horrible, I know.  I posted this on Facebook, and a friend said it looked like newborn baby poop.  🙂  True story.  At least it tastes decent!  And it has alot of tooth remineralizing properties, which will be great for all the dental issues we’ve had over the past year.

I also bought this nifty little GoToob on Amazon.  So far so good as far as how that works.  (**I’m not an affiliate, link for informational purposes only.)  Almost all of the toothpaste fit into the 3 oz size.  I had just a dab that wouldn’t fit.  It does not spoon in easily, I had to use a funnel and the flat end of a kebab stick to cram it into the tube.  But I think we will like this, and it will be a nice cost savings from what we were doing.

Gold Nuggets in the Bible: Pharez and Zarah (Genesis 38:27-30)

I love it when I find “gold nuggets” in the Bible.  Things that at a first glance seem like nothing, or I don’t understand right away, and I dig further and the Holy Ghost shines the light on something and…wow!

This was one I came across recently.  I was finishing up reading Genesis again a week  ago, and caught these verses.  Judah, son of Jacob, impregnated his daughter in law, Tamar.   He had previously taken a Canaanite woman as a wife.  The lineage of Jesus Christ was to come out of the tribe of Judah, and could not come from a Canaanite, so God provided a way.  Go read it, I’m not going to quote the whole chapter here.  🙂

Genesis 38:27-30:  **1611 KJV

27 And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that behold, twins were in her womb.

28  And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand:  and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.

29  And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out:  and she said, How hast thou broken forth?  this breach be upon thee:  therefore his name was called Pharez.

30  And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand:  and his name was called Zarah.

———————-

I was confused by the scarlet thread upon the had of Zarah.  If you look at Matthew 1:3:  “And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esram begat Aram;”      Matthew is writing about the lineage of Jesus.

The scarlet thread made me think of the scarlet cord in Joshua 2, in regards to Rahab the harlot.  That scarlet cord symbolizes the blood of Jesus.  Rahab is also connected to the lineage of Jesus Christ.  Matthew 1:5: ” And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;”

I started to research this Zarah Pharez issue a little more and came upon a very interesting article.  I don’t know that I ever found a great answer for my question about the significance of Zarah having the scarlet cord….but I found this really neat piece of history.  This is not an endorsement for this ministry as a whole, I haven’t looked at them enough to know what they are about, but I thought this article was worth sharing.

I hope you enjoy this, a golden nugget from the Bible…Amazing how just a couple verses shaped entire countries and had such an impact on history!
